A Summer Week 1960

At age ten years, 1960 was a time of fun and learning. We had just moved into a new neighborhood when Elvis came home from Germany. The news has come to us a preview in the 1960s, when Air Force pilot Francis was Gary Powers U2 spy plane shot down by a Soviet rocket. available on Saturday, my cousin and I was to buy some baseball cards on the way home, seeing Ben Hur, at the corner of the theater. After brushing my apartment up with a landing strip-like center, we decided to see if "chicks" wereHanging out on their porches. After a 230 hp Corvette distracted older guys, we reached out destination.

The ladies had their Hula Hoops, when we asked a Twist party in my basement. Saturday afternoons were for turning to Morning Little League baseball or a movie. My parents have just bought a new house for $ 10,500 Cape Cod and the unfinished basement was the twist an echo sound, and we pitched glass Coke bottles from a few. The nightbrought a number of cool black and white TV with us for Raw Hide.

Sunday we went to church. Of course, we would grab the weekly bulletin during Communion and head down to speak for a Parkside Candies Vanilla Phosphate, about sports and chicks. In the early afternoon was filled with the aroma of Mom's cooking sauce and the clink of crockery and cutlery. Sometimes there were family gatherings where we would play trivia on Sunday nights and more often, it was just a time to relax and. Fernsehen Perhaps we should begin to observe the Olympic Games in Rome and Cassius Clay wins the gold medal.

Monday to Friday brought a variation of the activity. as you wanted, you could now draw a U.S. map daydream that the 50th Hawaii State was. Someone came to the door and delivered a 45 record type promotion for some guy named Nixon, who ran for president. Of course, it was baseball almost every day as my Dad a field is cleared to play for us with a hand sickle.

AVisiting my cousin was generally ok and sometimes I spent the night. My nickname was "Trouble", so that a hint about tipping over garbage cans and threw tomatoes at different objects and should sometimes be issues. We were pretty bad take for a couple of guys, "Clam-digger". Of course, no day could be complete without faces at the lady in the window of the "Fish Shop". They actually had a baseball bat with spikes driven through them, so that when they moved behind thecounter, we ran faster than Maury Wills.

The summer of 1960, the famous home run Mazerowski against the Yankees and Pittsburgh Pirate's World Cup. It was the year of the underdog, the "Twist" to hear Dion, watching the Flintstones and old for ten years, a hot summer full of fun.
